Potential debutant in Shield squad v Queensland

A potential debutant has been named in the West End Redbacks squad for their Marsh Sheffield Shield clash against Queensland at Adelaide Oval starting on Friday.

Rookie-listed opening batter Kyle Brazell has been included in his first Redbacks squad and will make his First-Class debut if selected.

Tea Tree Gully's captain in SACA Premier Cricket, Brazell recently made a century for his side in the West End Men's First Grade competition.

Redbacks squad of 13: Wes Agar, Kyle Brazell, Jordan Buckingham, Jake Carder, Alex Carey (wk), Harry Conway, Brendan Doggett, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Jake Lehmann (c), Ben Manenti, Nathan McAndrew, Nathan McSweeney, Harry Nielsen

Australian Test wicket-keeper Alex Carey returns to the squad for his second Shield match of the season, on the back of taking a record-breaking eight catches in yesterday's Marsh Cup win over Queensland.

After precautionarily sitting out most the fielding innings yesterday due to back soreness and therefore being unable to bat until the fifth wicket fell, Jake Fraser-McGurk is expected to be fit to play.

The Redbacks will be hoping to maintain the momentum they got from yesterday's win when the two teams swap to red ball cricket tomorrow.

Set to start at 10:30am each day, there is free entry to Adelaide Oval for SACA Members while general public tickets will be available for purchase at the gate.
