What is personal information? |
Personal information is information or an opinion about you or from which you are reasonably identifiable. If you pay Membership Fees using our auto renewal service, we may collect: · your contact details, so that we can identify you, send any reminders of outstanding payments and provide confirmations of receipted payments; · your date of birth, so that we can verify your identity before discussing any personal information with you; and · details of amounts which have been paid or remain owing to us. Alternatively, if you signed up to our Membership Waitlist, we have already collected many of these details from you and they will be used to activate your auto renewal service. |

From whom do we collect your personal information? |
We usually collect your personal information directly from you. Sometimes we will collect your personal information from someone else, where it is lawful to do so or it is unreasonable or not practical for us to collect it directly from you. For example, if someone (including another Member) is paying Membership Fees on your behalf, we may ask them to provide your surname and SACA Membership number to verify that they have correctly identified you. |

Why are we collecting your personal information? |
If you are a current or prospective Member, we collect your personal information: · to administer and record Membership classes and any agreement to comply with our Constitution and By-Laws; · to implement recurring Membership auto renewal and payment of Membership Fees; · to remind you about upcoming payments and to confirm when they have been made or cancelled; and · to conduct other administrative functions which are relevant to those activities. |

What happens if your personal information is not collected? |
If you do not provide us with your personal information we cannot process the auto renewal of Memberships. In those circumstances, alternative arrangements will need to be made if you want to maintain a Membership with us. |

Who do we disclose your personal information to? |
If you are a current or prospective Member, your personal information will be disclosed: · if you are paying Membership Fees on behalf of a Member, to that Member; · if you are a Member whose Membership Fees are being paid by another Member, to that Member; · to information technology providers, including those who manage our customer relationship management database and Membership portal; and · to other service providers to our business, including printing services for our Membership renewal letters. For example, if you sign up for auto renewal to pay Membership Fees on another Member’s behalf, that Member will be able to view your surname in their online Membership account and in the portal, confirming you have paid for their Membership via the auto renewal function. You might also disclose personal information such as cardholder names, card numbers, expiry dates and card types (e.g. Visa or Mastercard) directly to online payment processing platforms or other financial institutions, when establishing these auto renewal payments. We encourage you to consult those parties’ privacy policies for further information about how they handle your personal information. Some of the parties outlined above may be located overseas. For example, some of our IT providers are based in countries such as India, the United States and the United Kingdom. |
