Player Pathway

The South Australian Cricket Association’s High Performance pathway is designed to ensure men, women, boys and girls are given every opportunity to excel. Several programs are in place to drive player development and elite competition throughout South Australia.

Emerging Redbacks

The Emerging Redbacks program is designed to mirror the Redbacks on a reduced scale with the states most talented un-contracted cricketers, including Grade cricketers as well as ‘above the line’ youth players, being invited to join the program.

West End Redbacks League

The elite-level competition is continuing to make a positive impact among our cricket talent pool; with the aim being to give our players every opportunity to be ‘first-class ready’ and making South Australian cricket stronger.

Youth Squads

SACA fields teams in each of the underage championships co-ordinated by Cricket Australia and School Sports Australia. Involvement in the championships is an integral part of the Cricket Australia player pathway program, with a number of current Australian cricketers having previously played at under age level.

West End Premier Cricket

The West End Premier Cricket competition has a rich and diverse history dating back to 1897. The competition currently offers 21 various grades, including two-day, one-day and Twenty20 formats for men, and one-day and Twenty20 formats for women. The women's competition is sponsored by Statewide Super.
