Wes Agar is an exciting fast bowler known for his raw pace, aggression and ability to generate bounce. Agar's cricketing journey began at a young age and he quickly rose through the ranks, catching the attention of selectors with his impressive performances. With his strong physique and natural athleticism, Agar possesses the ability to consistently bowl at a lively pace and trouble batsmen with his bounce. The younger brother of the Test-capped Ashton, Agar was selected in Australia’s U19 ICC World Cup squad as a junior after taking 10 wickets in the Under 19 National Championships. The Victorian moved to SA ahead of the 2015/16 season, hooking up with grade side Adelaide Uni alongside a rookie Redbacks contract and he went on to make his List A debut for the State. After a brief move back home to Victoria, Agar returned to the Redbacks ahead of the 2019 season and made his First-Class debut in October 2019, being a pivotal part of the Redbacks pace attack ever since. Agar earned the Bradman Young Cricketer of the Year award in 2020 and has twice won the Lord Hampden Trophy as SA’s best Sheffield Shield Player. In July 2021, Agar made his Australian debut in a ODI series against the West Indies and in 2023, he played for Australia A in a New Zealand tour.
