Bowler
Henry Thornton has shown immense potential as a fast bowler, with the ability to trouble batsmen with his pace, skill and aggression. Thornton's talent was identified at an early age when he was selected in the Under 13 Cricket NSW Academy Program. Several years later, the tall quick found himself with a NSW Blues Rookie Contract. During the 2015/16 summer, Thornton was part of the NSW Metro team which won the Under 19 Male National Championships and he was subsequently selected in the Australian Under 19 team for a series against England in Perth. He was the leading wicket taker during the ODI section of that tour, snaring 13 wickets at 13.46. After being involved with the South Australian program at the Adelaide Strikers, Thornton decided to make the move to Adelaide full time ahead of the 2022/23 season and earned his State List A debut in the first match of the Marsh Cup season.
