Batter
It was a meteoric rise for Jason Sangha, who is part of exclusive group of players who have received a NSW contract while still at school.
He was signed up by the Sydney Thunder after joining the club as the Community Rookie for BBL|06 as a 16-year-old, and captained Australia at the Under-19 World Cup in 2018.
The young batter made and instant impression at first-class level, hitting a century in his second match against an England XI, and hitting hist first NSW ton in just his third Marsh Sheffield Shield match. A versatile right-handed batter who can also bowl handy leg-spin, Sangha then endured a few tough seasons as he looked to find his feet at domestic level.
Things clicked in the summer of 2021-22, producing his best Shield campaign (504 runs from seven matches) and his best Big Bash campaign (445 runs in 12 matches). Sangha has signed with South Australia for the 2024-25 season.
