Bowler
An Adelaide Hills local, Lloyd Pope instantly became a household name when he took a record-breaking 8-53 against England at the 2018 ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup, the best figures in the history of the Under 19 World Cup. The leg-spinner was contracted by the West End Redbacks and made his Sheffield Shield debut in October 2018. In just his second match, he took 7-87 and became the youngest bowler to take a seven-wicket haul in Sheffield Shield. Another highlight of Pope’s career came in 2020, when he became the first leg spinner in 50 years to take a five-wicket haul on the opening day of a Shield match.
