All-rounder
Ben Manenti is a talented Australian cricketer known for his strong all-round abilities. Born in Sydney, Manenti made his debut for New South Wales and the spinner was named Player of the Match on debut. In November 2022, he took his maiden five-wicket haul in first-class cricket against Western Australia. Ahead of the 2022/23 season, Manenti moved to South Australia and won the 2022/23 Neil Dansie Medal as South Australia’s best male player and the Marsh One Day Cup MVP award in his first season as a Redback after taking 23 Sheffield Shield wickets and another 11 in the shorter format of the game. Beyond his bowling prowess, Manenti is also a handy lower-order batsman and a dynamic fielder. In the 2022/23 season he saved the Redbacks from precarious positions in games as he made 458 runs in Shield at an average of 35.23 and a strike-rate of 77.9 and complied 168 runs at a 33.6 average with a 119.1 strike-rate in the Marsh Cup. His athleticism and agility in the field make him a valuable asset, having taken some exceptional catches in the slips.
