Wicket Keeper
Harry Nielsen comes from a cricketing family and from an early age, he displayed a natural aptitude for the game. Nielsen hasn’t looked back after a stunning Sheffield Shield debut for South Australia in early 2018, where he scored a memorable century against Victoria in his first match in the Baggy Red. He also notched a ton against a Virat Kohli-led India in a tour match representing a Cricket Australia XI. In his debut season, he earned a List A debut for SA in the One Day Cup and played eight Shield matches in a sign of his rising responsibility in the Redbacks’ ranks. As a wicketkeeper, Nielsen combines agility, sharp reflexes and excellent glove work. He has a strong presence behind the stumps and has demonstrated the ability to take sharp catches and effect lightning-quick stumpings. His athleticism and technique make him a reliable presence, capable of supporting the bowlers and seizing opportunities to dismiss batsmen.
