South Australia has named a 12-player squad for its Sheffield Shield match against Western Australia at Adelaide Oval, beginning this Wednesday.
Ryan Harris' side will be looking to bounce back after opening the season with a victory over Victoria before suffering a loss to Queensland in round two.
Wes Agar, Matthew Gilkes and Mackenzie Harvey have been recalled to the squad, replacing Henry Hunt (concussion protocols), Harry Nielsen and Henry Thornton (parental leave).
Gilkes returns after making his Sheffield Shield debut against Victoria earlier this season, having been called into the side when Jake Weatherald was forced from the field with concussion.
The talented wicketkeeper-batter has enjoyed an outstanding start to the One-Day Cup campaign, sitting second on the competition's run-scoring charts behind teammate Jake Fraser-McGurk following innings of 127 and 97 not out.
Meanwhile, South Australia's Second XI is currently taking on Victoria Second XI in Mildura, with several contracted SA players included in the squad.
Batter Dokey Hoogenboezem got South Australia off to a strong start on day one of the fixture, hitting an important 134 opening the batting.
Fast bowler Spencer Johnson returns to red-ball cricket, while Jake Fraser-McGurk, Noah McFadyen and Hanno Jacobs are also featuring in the match.
Adelaide opener Connor Carroll comes into the Second XI squad after an impressive 108 off 40 balls in the Hahn Twenty20 Cup.
SA rookie Thomas Brown has also been enjoying a strong run of form, with two half centuries for Adelaide University in white-ball cricket.
