South Australia names squad to face Queensland in One-Day Cup

South Australia has named a 13-player squad to face Queensland in Saturday’s One-Day Cup clash at Karen Rolton Oval, with captain Nathan McSweeney and fast bowler Spencer Johnson set to make their first appearances of the season.

The pair have been named following their return from international duty with Australia A, where both delivered impressive performances against India A.

McSweeney struck a superb 123 to help Australia A to a 125-run victory, while Johnson was named Player of the Match in the second fixture after claiming 3/35.

South Australia returns home full of confidence following a 70-run win over Victoria on Monday at Junction Oval.

Matt Gilkes starred with the bat, producing a brilliant 127 from 115 deliveries to bring up his maiden List A century.

The performance followed his unbeaten 97 in his first innings for South Australia last month, continuing an impressive start in the state.

Brendan Doggett, Nathan McAndrew and Liam Scott are being managed due to their recent workloads.

South Australia squad:
Wes Agar, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Matt Gilkes, Mackenzie Harvey, Henry Hunt, Spencer Johnson, Jake Lehmann, Ben Manenti, Nathan McSweeney, Noah McFadyen, Lloyd Pope, Henry Thornton, Jerrssis Wadia.
