South Australia has named a 12-player Second XI squad to take on New South Wales at Karen Rolton Oval today.
Fresh off a blistering unbeaten 97 in his first innings for South Australia, wicketkeeper batsman Matthew Gilkes headlines the squad and will line up alongside Mackenzie Harvey.
Batters Henry Hunt, Dokey Hoogenboezem and Harry Nielsen have also been included.
Pacemen Wes Agar, Hanno Jacobs, Noah McFadyen and Campbell Thompson have been selected. sharing the ball with spinners Lloyd Pope, Jerrssis Wadia and Tom Brown.
The match is the first of six Toyota Second XI fixtures for South Australia this season.
The program provides valuable opportunities for emerging players to press their claims for higher honours, while also allowing established players to build form and match fitness throughout the summer.
South Australia will host New South Wales, Western Australia and Victoria at Karen Rolton Oval, with away fixtures against Victoria in Mildura, the ACT in Canberra and Queensland in Brisbane.
