Throughout September, SACA is celebrating Play Cricket Month with a series of school visits, community activations and participation programs designed to inspire the next generation of cricketers.
With registrations now open for the summer season, Play Cricket Month showcases the many ways children and families can get involved in cricket, from registering with their local junior club to Woolworths Cricket Blast, Smash Series and all-girls Little Strikers programs, School Holiday Clinics and community activations across the state.
The month-long initiative aims to provide children with opportunities to experience cricket firsthand and discover a format that's right for them, helping inspire the next generation to get involved in the game.
As part of Play Cricket Month, State and Adelaide Strikers players will visit schools across South Australia, introducing students to cricket through fun, interactive sessions while sharing their passion for the game.
Families can also get involved through a range of junior participation programs.
Designed for children aged 5 to 10, Woolworths Cricket Blast is the perfect introduction to cricket, helping kids develop fundamental skills in a fun and inclusive environment.
Smash Series is designed for older children and adults focuses on playing with friends, building confidence and enjoying cricket in a fast-paced, action-packed format.
Cricket continues to provide exciting opportunities for women and girls to get involved at every level of the game. Through our dedicated Girls-Only School Holiday Clinics and all-girls Little Strikers programs, participants can develop their skills, make new friends and build the confidence to progress to the Strikers Girls Cricket League, while forming a lifelong connection with cricket in a welcoming and supportive environment.
SACA remains committed to creating inclusive pathways that encourage more girls to discover and enjoy the game.
School Holiday Clinics will also be held across South Australia during the upcoming October school holidays, providing another opportunity for children to stay active, learn new skills and enjoy cricket with friends.
