SACA in Business Host Inaugural Midwinter Ball

SACA’s premium B2B networking program, SACA in Business recently celebrated its inaugural Midwinter Ball bringing together 135 business leaders from across South Australia for an unforgettable evening of connection, purpose and philanthropy in the stunning surroundings of the Mortlock Chamber at the State Library of South Australia.

Established in 2024, SACA in Business provides a platform to create meaningful business connections across a variety of industries and member businesses.

The black-tie gala, showcased the strength of South Australia’s business community while creating a platform to support, SACA’s charity partners, Cancer Council SA and the Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation. Guests enjoyed an evening of fine dining, networking and meaningful conversations, all set within one of Adelaide’s most iconic and picturesque heritage venues.

A poignant moment of the evening was a candid and insightful conversation with South Australian Cricket Team members Bridget Patterson and Wes Agar led by internationally renowned cricket journalist Bharat Sundaresan. Sharing their own personal experiences and perspectives connected to the evening’s charitable causes, both athletes delivered heartfelt and uplifting insights that inspired guests and reinforced the importance of awareness, support and community.

The event also featured the official launch of the Biggest Backyard Cricket Bash, a joint initiative of SACA, Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation and Cancer Council SA. The unique corporate cricket tournament provides participating teams the once in a lifetime opportunity to take to the hallowed turf of Adelaide Oval in a one day - T10 round robin tournament, with all proceeds supporting the two charities.

SACA in Business Member, White Horse Finance had the honour of being the first business to enter a team, contributing $10,000 on the night to support of these worthy causes.

The evening also served as a reminder of the unique role the SACA in Business network plays in bringing together leaders from diverse industries through shared experiences and common purpose. From meaningful conversations to spirited bidding during the auction, the Midwinter Ball created opportunities for new relationships, collaborations and ideas to emerge for business outcomes, all while supporting causes that make a tangible difference in our community.

A sincere thank you to our SACA in Business Partners whose support helped make the evening possible:

Bleasdale Wines, Magain Real Estate, Cancer Council SA, Custom by ORTC, Big Screen Video, People First Bank, Stanley & Co Lawyers and Quayclean.

Together, we celebrated the power of business, community and purpose, while making a lasting contribution to causes that impact so many South Australians.
