South Australia will launch its Sheffield Shield title defence with a rematch of last season's final, after Cricket Australia today announced its domestic schedule for the 2026/27 season.
Led by coach Ryan Harris, South Australia will return to the scene of its 2025/26 Sheffield Shield triumph, taking on Victoria at Junction Oval in Melbourne on October 7.
South Australia will then take on Queensland at Adelaide Oval on 19 October, the first of five Sheffield Shield home matches at the iconic venue.
The reigning champions will also host Western Australia (28 October), Victoria (24 November) and Tasmania (3 December) at Adelaide Oval, before concluding their home Shield campaign with a day-night clash against New South Wales under lights on 8 February.
The team will also travel to face New South Wales at Cricket Central on 11 November, Western Australia at the WACA Ground on 20 February, Tasmania at Ninja Stadium on 2 March and Queensland at Allan Border Field on 14 March to complete its home-and-away campaign.
South Australia’s One-Day Cup campaign will begin on 18 September with a day-night clash against Western Australia at the WACA Ground in Perth.
The side will play all four of its home One-Day Cup matches at Karen Rolton Oval this season, where new lighting and enhanced spectator seating are being installed.
South Australia will host Tasmania (23 September), Queensland (17 October), Western Australia (2 February) and Victoria (5 February).
The team will also travel to face Victoria under lights at Junction Oval on 12 October and New South Wales at Cricket Central on 16 November.
The Shield Final will be held on March 25 to 29, with the One-Day Cup Final will be held on February 14.
South Australia’s women’s team will have their 2026-27 fixture unveiled by Cricket Australia later this month.
