SACA Community Cricket Awards Winners 2025/26

The South Australian Cricket Association is proud to recognise the contributions of the hardworking and dedicated clubs, officials, coaches and volunteers on the grassroots level, who make community cricket thrive across South Australia.

Clubs from across the state came together at a ceremony held at Karen Rolton Oval Pavilion to celebrate and cap off the resounding success of the 2025/26 season.

Lyndoch Cricket Club’s Zak Pretlove was named the Volunteer of the Year after dedicating more than a decade in senior leadership roles.

The long-serving volunteer continued to serve as Club Secretary while living interstate, delivering outstanding results across governance, operations, fundraising, sponsorship and facility development.

His selflessness and impact — from securing more than $50,000 in sponsorship and coordinating multiple grants to leading major events, facility upgrades and support of junior and women’s programs — have been pivotal to the club’s long‑term growth and sustainability.

Awarded the Community Cricket Club of the Year, the Reynella Cricket Club is one of Adelaide’s largest and most inclusive community clubs, supporting 351 participants across senior, junior, women’s and all-abilities programs.

The club continues to grow, recently expanding its girls’ and all-abilities teams and celebrating its first all-abilities match win.

With strong development pathways, new training facilities and a record five Spirit of Cricket Awards, Reynella is a community-focused club where people of all ages can thrive on and off the field.

The Riverland Cricket Association has been named Community Cricket Association of the Year, recognising a standout season highlighted by the successful introduction of a 100-ball competition.

The initiative significantly boosted participation and increased the number of matches played under lights.

The association also played a key role in supporting clubs to schedule double-header fixtures across T20 and 100-ball formats.

Capping off an exceptional year, the district recorded strong representation at the SACA Country Cups.

Lobethal Cricket Club’s David Martin has been recognised as Young Leader of the Year, acknowledging his outstanding contribution both on and off the field.

At club level, David has spent the past three years serving on the Lobethal Cricket Club Junior Committee, playing an important role in the development and organisation of junior cricket.

More recently, he has extended his leadership impact across the region as a member of the Alexandra and Eastern Hills Cricket Association Junior Executive.

David has also supported the modernisation of match-day operations by assisting senior teams to adopt live scoring through PlayHQ.

Complementing his leadership achievements, David continues to develop as a player, improving his own game and securing a regular place in Lobethal’s A2 senior side.

Andrews Farm Cricket Club has been awarded the Community Facility Project of the Year, recognising its strong support of SACA initiatives and the successful development of its new clubhouse at Kalara Reserve.

The facility now serves as a year‑round home for both cricket and soccer.

Throughout the season, the club hosted the PDCA Junior Season Launch, welcoming around 60 coaches and coordinators, and delivered first-class facilities for Under 12 and Under 14 Para Districts representative matches during the SACA Metropolitan Carnivals.

SACA extends its sincere thanks and congratulations to everyone across the South Australian cricket community.

The ongoing success of the game would not be possible without the dedication, passion and commitment of those involved at every level.

SACA firmly believes cricket has the power to drive positive change within communities, and the people who make up South Australian cricket continue to demonstrate that impact each and every day.
