SA name 12-Man squad for Sheffield Shield return against NSW

South Australia has named a 12-man squad to face New South Wales as Sheffield Shield cricket returns this week.

Ryan Harris’ side will travel to Sydney for the match, which begins on Thursday, February 5 at the SCG.

The squad features three changes from the group that last played in early December. Alex Carey and Brendan Doggett return following a successful Ashes campaign, while captain Nathan McSweeney also comes back into the side. Ben Manenti is away on International duties, representing Italy at the T20 World Cup.

In their most recent four-day match, South Australia claimed a dominant 10-wicket victory over Tasmania at home. Centuries from Liam Scott and recently voted Men’s Domestic Player of the Year Jake Lehmann set up the win, while Jordan Buckingham starred with the ball, taking eight wickets across the match.

SA will be looking to pick up from where they left off as they push to secure second place on the ladder.

Squad of 12: Jordan Buckingham, Alex Carey, Brendan Doggett, Mackenzie Harvey, Henry Hunt, Hanno Jacobs, Jake Lehmann, Nathan McAndrew, Nathan McSweeney, Lloyd Pope, Jason Sangha, Liam Scott.
