With less than 50 days until the NRMA Insurance Christmas Test in Adelaide, Cricket Australia and South Australia Cricket have announced the Christmas Test Festival that will be held at the game.
Adelaide Oval is set to host the third match in the Ashes, which will run from December 17 to 21, 2025.
The Christmas-themed festival will take place alongside the Test in Pennington Gardens, adjacent to the eastern gates of the stadium, offering holiday fun to all.
It will include an interactive cricket zone, with skill challenges and fan experiences, while big screens will ensure everyone can watch the Test throughout the day.
It will also feature Christmas activities, including photo opportunities with iconic Christmas pageant floats, entertainers and an atmosphere that celebrates the festive season.
Food trucks and local vendors will be dotted around the festival, showcasing the brilliant flavours of South Australia, and local DJs will pump out music throughout day.
Games, giveaways and activities will ensure the event entertains the whole family throughout the day.
The festival is free and open to all from 8am-6pm on Days 1-4 of the Christmas Test.
CEO of South Australia, Charlie Hodgson said, "This year’s Ashes is one of the most anticipated in recent memory and we’re looking forward to another momentous summer here in South Australia, headlined by the Christmas Test at Adelaide Oval.
"We believe Adelaide Oval to be the best ground in world cricket, providing unparalleled atmosphere for SACA Members and cricket fans attending. Extending that experience this December with the inaugural Christmas Test Festival, provides even more opportunities for event goers, visitors to Adelaide and locals alike to embrace and be a part of this celebration of cricket.
"It’s another step towards the Adelaide Test Match becoming the ultimate destination event on the global cricketing calendar."
Australian international Alex Carey reiterated this sentiment, saying, "Adelaide is the pinnacle.
"Any time we play a Test here, all the boys love coming over, not just the local boys. We know it’s a great ground. It’s always got a great atmosphere and this year it’s going to be a day game, so it’s really exciting."
