South Australia defeated by Queensland in Sheffield Shield

South Australia has been defeated in a disappointing display, with Queensland claiming victory just ahead of tea at Adelaide Oval.

South Australia was able to salvage a first-innings score of 228, thanks to starts by Conor McInerney (60) and Jason Sangha (51), followed by some late hitting by all-rounder Liam Scott (44).

With the ball, South Australia was able to snag some early wickets on day two before Queensland dug in through Marnus Labuschagne and Jack Clayton.

Quick Wes Agar led the way for the South Australian attack, finishing with five for 88 off 18 overs.

It was a similar story in South Australia’s second innings, with several players getting starts but not able to cash in.

Despite some early wickets from SA, Queensland were able to pass our score only three wickets down.

South Australia will take on Queensland in a One-Day Cup match at Karen Rolton Oval on Monday.
