Australian Country Cricket Championships to be hosted in the Barossa Valley in January 2025

The South Australian Cricket Association is thrilled that the 2025 Australian Country Cricket Championships will be held in the Barossa Valley.

The last time South Australia hosted the Championships was in 2016 in Mount Gambier.

From January 3 – 10, over 250 players from six women’s and six men’s teams will complete in the eight-day tournament, giving the opportunity for Australia’s best regional players to test their skills at a high level of competition.

The hosting rights were made possible due to the strong support of The Barossa Council and the Barossa and Light Cricket Association.

The Championships will showcase a number of community facilities that have received significant investment through the Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund, The Barossa Council and the South Australian Government’s Grassroots Funding Programs, improving facilities for local clubs by providing access to lights, new changerooms, practice facilities and oval surface upgrades.

The Tanunda Recreation Park was recently awarded SACA's Community Facility of the Year after undertaking a redevelopment which was part of 'The Big Project', the Barossa region’s largest and most ambitious community infrastructure project.

The Australian Country Cricket Championships have a proud heritage and showcase not only the skills of players from regional areas, but also the leading role of Australia’s regional clubs and associations in the game.

The South Australian woman’s side previously won the title in 2023 and will be looking for another strong showing on home turf. The men’s team under Paul Pasculli produced a strong showing in the most recent championships in Newcastle and will be looking to build on that experience.
