Carey’s 117 came at better than a run a ball, and featured a towering six over long on to bring up his century in the 30th over.
It was a brilliant start from the young keeper-batsman, who controlled the innings from the top of the order and kept the run rate ticking over after South Australia won the toss and elected to bat at the start of play.

The 24 year-old was ably supported by young guns John Dalton and Patrick Page Jr., who both impressed with mature half-centuries to help the Redbacks set a 276-run target for the Bulls to chase.
In the second innings it was Gregory (5/45) who did the damage with the ball, striking on his first and last delivery of the match, as well as combining with Nielsen behind the stumps for a double wicket over in the 35th to tip the game in South Australia’s favour.
