The Office for Recreation, Sports and Racing has a number of different grants and programs available to those in South Australia.

SPORTS VOUCHER PROGRAM

The Sports Voucher program provides a discount of up to 2x$100 on sport, dance, learn to swim or scouts/guides fees for children living in South Australia in Reception to Year 9 each calendar year. The aim is to increase the number of children participating in physical activity by helping to reduce cost as a barrier.

ACTIVE CLUB PROGRAM

Providing funding support to active recreation and sport clubs to further develop the programs and services they provide within the South Australian community. Grants of either $1,500 or $3,000 will be available for each applicant based on the membership of the club.

COMMUNITY RECREATION AND SPORT FACILITIES PROGRAM

Providing access to funding for the development of sustainable, functional, inclusive and fit-for-purpose active recreation and sport facilities that meet the current and future needs of the South Australian community. The Community Recreation and Sport Facilities Program will assist eligible organisations to develop infrastructure that directly addresses demonstrated need and supports participation through the rational development of good quality projects.

THE POWER OF HER – INFRASTRUCTURE PARTICIPATION PROGRAM

The objective of The Power of Her - Infrastructure and Participation Program (IPP) is to build on and deepen the legacy of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup by providing funding for dedicated facilities, improvements to facilities, equipment and programs for girls’ and women’s sport in South Australia. Successful projects will foster and enhance the participation of female athletes in sport by addressing key challenges and barriers to female participation.

VARIETY HEART SCHOLARSHIPS

The Variety Heart Scholarships Program supports children with an existing talent, who are disadvantaged or living with a disability, to achieve their full potential and to follow their dreams. Applications are accepted for children between the ages of 8 and 17 years of age who are SA residents. Scholarships are awarded to support children in the areas of the arts and sport and are awarded on a yearly basis, with funding to be spent within 12 months. Scholarships are awarded up to $5,000 per year, per application.

Silvan are offering local sporting clubs throughout Australia the opportunity to be a part of our Community Sponsorship Program with the chance to apply for a one-time cash grant towards the operation of club-based events, activities, projects, and equipment.

STAY IN SPORT
Fleurieu Community Foundation

The Stay in Sport grants aim to provide assistance to junior sports participants on the Fleurieu, who would otherwise drop out of playing sports in their communities due to disadvantage or financial hardship, and who are unable to afford compulsory club fees, uniforms and/or sports equipment. The objective of the program is to encourage continuity in community engagement and participation. The program focuses on inclusivity in sports for all young people regardless of ability and financial means. There are two grant rounds every year. The winter grants round is open through April-May. The summer grants round is open through October-November.

LOCAL SPORTING CHAMPIONS

The Local Sporting Champions (LSC) program provides financial assistance ($500-$800) for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 towards to cost of attending their state, national or international championships. 

EXPAND TOGETHER
Department of the Premier and Cabinet

The Expand Together Grants provide one-off funding to eligible multicultural organisations to purchase equipment, extend or build community facilities for use by South Australia’s culturally and linguistically diverse communities. Grants are available up to $100,000 for projects delivered over 12 months.

Flinders Port Holdings

Flinders Port Holdings is committed to supporting the local communities where each subsidiary in the group operates. As a port services group we coordinate an extensive program of community sponsorships across South Australia, through Flinders Ports, Flinders Logistics and Flinders Adelaide Container Terminal. Applications for our community sponsorships are invited between 1 February and 30 April each year.

ROGER RASHEED SPORTS FOUNDATION

The RRSF is a not-for-profit charity that provides sports facilities and opportunities for extreme disadvantaged communities across Australia. They welcomes ideas and interaction from coaches, teachers, parents or anyone who believes sport can be a life-changing experience for children and have identified a specific demand.

Clubs / participants should also check in with their local council for current grants and funding opportunities.

ENABLING INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRAM

Department of Primary Industries and Regions

The Enabling Infrastructure Program consists of medium to large grants for infrastructure projects that strengthen and build strong regional communities through:

  • value-added investment in priority community infrastructure that improves quality of life or attracts and retains people in our regions
  • enabling infrastructure to attract and retain business (goods and services) in regions and support a strong regional economy
  • collaboration with other projects, programs or initiatives
  • having broad regional community benefit
  • having considered latent and future demand.

The grants support projects that can start within 6 months and can be completed within 2 years from execution of funding agreement.

You can apply for a grant in the amount from $50,000 to $1 million.
