South Australia Women's Squad Announcement

The South Australia Women have unveiled a strong squad for the 2025/26 WNCL season, signalling a push for their first final win in a decade. The refreshed line-up sees a blend of homegrown talent and experienced players, all poised to make a significant impact.

The SA Women are thrilled to welcome promising South Australians Beth Worthley and rookie Maggie Clark into the fold. New South Wales product Isabella Malgioglio also joins the squad, adding depth and bolstering its strength.

Experienced all-rounder Jemma Barsby will once again lead the side, entering her third season as captain. Her leadership will be crucial as the team look to build on past campaigns and overcome the disappointment of narrowly missing out on a finals spot last season after a tough loss to Western Australia.

Captain Jemma Barsby said: "I'm incredibly honoured to lead this group again for a third season. There's a real buzz around the squad with the new talent coming in. Beth, Maggie, and Isabella have already shown great promise, and their energy, combined with our experienced core, creates a fantastic dynamic.

We're determined to play an exciting brand of cricket and push hard for that WNCL final – it's been too long for the South Australia Women, and we're eager to bring that success home."

Head Coach Mick Delaney said: "We're really excited about the balance and depth of this squad for the 25/26 season. The addition of local talents like Beth and Maggie is a testament to the strengthening pathways in South Australian cricket.

"We are focused on establishing our style of play and leveraging our experienced players to support the development of our emerging talent. With Jemma at the helm again and a strong team of experienced players, we believe we have the ingredients to seriously contend for the WNCL title this year. The hard work starts now, and we're looking forward to a big season ahead."

The South Australian Women are chasing their first WNCL final win in ten years and are committed to a strong preseason as they prepare to launch their 2025/26 campaign.
