Conway's cricketing journey began on the domestic circuit, where he impressed with his skill and dedication. Standing tall and possessing a bowling action comprised of good pace, he has the ability to extract extra bounce from the surface, making him a challenging bowler to face especially in seaming conditions. Starting his career at the NSW Blues, he took a five-wicket haul on Sheffield Shield debut and a hat-trick for Australia at the Under 19 World Cup, before making appearances for the Cricket Australia XI and Australia A against England and India respectively. Conway joined the Redbacks ahead of the 2022/23 season having played 38 First-Class matches across six seasons at the Blues, quickly making his South Australian debut in both formats.
