South Australia has named a 14-player squad ahead of its Sheffield Shield Final showdown with Victoria, beginning tomorrow at the CitiPower Centre.
Fast bowler Wes Agar, leg-spinner Lloyd Pope and dynamic batter Jake Fraser-McGurk all return to the squad, strengthening Ryan Harris’s side as it prepares for a back-to-back Shield Final appearance.
The team has set its sights on a historic milestone as it looks to become the first South Australian side to secure consecutive Sheffield Shield titles.
All-rounder Noah McFadyen and paceman Tim Oakley make way after featuring in South Australia’s final minor-round clash—also against Victoria—which ended in a rain-affected draw.
Despite the rain-affected result, opener Henry Hunt continued his solid form, while Jason Sangha compiled a classy half century.
Squad of 14:
Wes Agar, Jordan Buckingham, Alex Carey, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Mackenzie Harvey, Henry Hunt, Jake Lehmann, Ben Manenti, Nathan McAndrew, Nathan McSweeney, Lloyd Pope, Jason Sangha, Liam Scott, Henry Thornton.
