South Australia names 13-player squad for crucial Shield match up

South Australia has made two changes to its 13-player squad ahead of a crucial Sheffield Shield clash with Victoria, beginning tomorrow at CitiPower Centre.

Batter Mackenzie Harvey and all-rounder Noah McFadyen have been added to the squad, while Travis Head steps out as he turns his attention to preparations for the Indian Premier League.

Harvey returns to the group in strong form, having scored a century while opening the batting in South Australia’s Second XI win over New South Wales. McFadyen has also been impressive at Second XI level, producing an important 91 against Western Australia and collecting multiple four-wicket hauls.

The Adelaide Cricket Club all-rounder has been a standout in Premier Cricket, amassing more than 1100 runs and over 40 wickets across all first-grade competitions this season.

It comes after the 22-year-old won the Bradman Medal last year in a four-way tie.

Uncapped bowler Tim Oakley retains his place in the squad after replacing Hanno Jacobs for the previous match against New South Wales.

Squad of 13:
Jordan Buckingham, Alex Carey, Mackenzie Harvey, Henry Hunt, Jake Lehmann, Ben Manenti, Nathan McAndrew, Noah McFadyen, Nathan McSweeney, Tim Oakley, Jason Sangha, Liam Scott, Henry Thornton.
