The Adelaide Strikers have named their squad for the Spring Challenge, which kicks off its second season today in Sydney.
The quickfire, T20 tournament takes place over ten days at the end of the month, as a precursor for the WBBL, which starts on November 9.
The tournament was introduced after the WBBL regular season was cut down from 14 to 10 games to ensure the country’s top domestic talent did not lose out on opportunities.
It features all eight Big Bash clubs as well as the ACT Meteors.
Each team plays four other sides in the league stage, with the top four progressing to the semi-finals on October 29 and the winners of that playing in the final at Cricket Central the next day.
The Adelaide Strikers begun their campaign against the Melbourne Stars today, before facing the Meteors two days later. They then face the other Melbourne-based side, the Renegades, on the 25th, and they round off the league stage against the Sydney Thunder on October 26.
Squad: Maggie Clark, Isabella Malgioglio, Ella Wilson, Elizabeth Worthley, Emmerson Filsell, Jemma Barsby, Anesu Mushangwe, Eleanor Larosa, Bridget Patterson, Maddie Penna, Amanda-Jade Wellington, Ellie Johnston, Matilda Maitland, Courtney Neale (injured).
