SA Men Build on Recent Success with Full Squad Announcement

The squad that triumphed in both the 2024/25 One-Day Cup and Sheffield Shield championships remains largely unchanged for the upcoming season, maintaining the strength and skill that led to their success.

Last month, South Australia welcomed back Hanno Jacobs on a three-year deal. A former state pathway player in the U19s, Hanno's journey since then has been marked by meaningful growth and development.

In exciting news announced just this week, Douwtjie Hoogenboezem will join the ranks of our talented rookies, alongside Aidan Cahill, Harry Matthias, and Campbell Thompson.

Head coach Ryan Harris welcomed Jacobs and Hoogenboezem, expressing his eagerness to see how these additions will bolster the squad as they aim for continued success.

“We are thrilled to welcome Hanno back to South Australia. He has proven his potential in first-class cricket for NSW and showcased his all-round capabilities at this level. His recently acquired experience will be a valuable asset, and we are eager to see how he will contribute to the squad,” Harris said.

“We are fortunate to have a strong group of rookies, including the new addition of Dokey (Douwtjie Hoogenboezem). His impressive performances in the Second XI for Western Australia have us excited to see his development in our rookie program.

“The squad's remarkable achievement of topping both ladders and clinching both championships last season is a testament to their relentless hard work, commitment, and dedication. I am immensely proud of how far we've come together.

“We've demonstrated our ambition and capabilities. Lifting the Dean Jones Trophy and Sheffield Shield after two hard-fought finals last season has fueled our hunger for continued success, and I look forward to seeing what this squad can do.”
