Shield squad v Victoria

The West End Redbacks are resuming their Marsh Sheffield Shield season this week, with a rematch of the last Shield match they played against Victoria.

This time, the Redbacks will take on Victoria away, with the match at Junction Oval beginning on Saturday, February 3 set to start at 10am each day.

A squad of 13 have flown to Victoria for the match, with SA locals Thomas Kelly and Lloyd Pope returning to the squad off the back of impressive BBL|13 campaigns with the Adelaide Strikers.

During the BBL break, middle-order batter Nathan McSweeney also impressed, captaining Brisbane Heat to the Championship, while Jordan Buckingham returns to the Redbacks squad after being 12th man in the Heat victory.

Squad of 13 v Victoria: Jake Lehmann (C), Nathan McSweeney (VC), Wes Agar, Jordan Buckingham, Jake Carder, Brendan Doggett, Henry Hunt, Thomas Kelly, Ben Manenti, Nathan McAndrew, Harry Nielsen (WK), Lloyd Pope, Liam Scott

After scoring his maiden First-Class century in the reverse fixture in December, Jake-Fraser McGurk isn’t available for this match after earning selection in Australia’s One Day International squad for the upcoming series against the West Indies.

The Shield match with Victoria will be broadcast live on cricket.com.au and Kayo Sports.
