Adding to South Australia’s wealthy pace stocks is promising 21-year-old David Grant, who made his Sheffield Shield debut against New South Wales after featuring in a tour match against South Africa in 2016.
The tall quick memorably took the wickets of Stephen Cook and Hashim Amla in that game, and his maiden first-class scalp was Nic Maddinson on debut at Adelaide Oval.
Grant also produced a valiant performance against the Queensland Bulls in Cairns on a flat wicket, returning figures of 1-38 from 17 overs in his single Shield match of last summer. Dubbed a Glenn McGrath clone, Grant is always picked for his bounce and aggression and asserts himself as a bowler for the future.
