At just 19, Pengelley was selected in the now defunct CA XI for the 2017 One-Day Cup and struck his maiden List A half-century against Queensland on their home ground at AB Field.

Selected in the 2016 CA Team of the Tournament at the Under 19 National Championships, Pengelley continues to be a regular Toyota Futures League runscorer as he targets a debut with the senior Redbacks side.
