Sports Science and Sports Medicine Manager John Porter said that Worrall will return to Adelaide to continue his rehabilitation.

“Daniel has had a recurrence of a pre-existing stress injury,” Porter said.

“He will take at least 12 weeks off bowling and we are aiming for him to return early in the Australian domestic cricket season.”

The 27-year-old had an interrupted year with the Redbacks group with long-term foot and back injuries keeping him out of the side.

He then ended the season with a hamstring strain sustained during a first-class match at the WACA in March prior to his departure for England.

Worrall will look to return during South Australia's pre-season, which begins early June.
