Set to be one of SACA’s biggest entry-level participation events of the season, Woolworths Cricket Blast is a fun and fast program, buzzing with the energy of Big Bash cricket.

The program teaches kids how to bat, bowl, field and catch, all while making new friends.

A number of Statewide Super SA Scorpions and Redbacks players will be in attendance to interact with kids and participate in a Q&A session.

Australian player Kane Richardson will appear, as well as Scorpions batter Bridget Patterson.

Patterson, who made a century in round one of the Women’s National Cricket League last month, is excited to introduce more children to cricket.

“It’s a lot of fun seeing the next generation of cricketers getting involved from such a young age,” Patterson said.

“I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to be part of events like the Woolworths Cricket Blast launch and to be considered a role model to these kids.”

The launch will include an information session for Cricket Blast centre coordinators, outlining the structure of the Junior Blaster and Master Blaster programs, plus a free sausage sizzle.

Participants can still register to attend here.
