Defending a first innings total of 157, Sturt were able to restrict Glenelg to 136 thanks to a brilliant performance with the ball from Bailey Vogt (4/30), Brooke Harris (3/20) and Amelia Rault (3/26). The win is Sturt’s fourth from seven starts, with two draws and a loss enough to give them top billing at the conclusion of Round 7.

Kensington are hot on their heels however after a dominant display against Northern Districts ended in a 10-wicket triumph. Shae Daly claimed the remarkable figures of 7/19 as Northern Districts slumped to all out for 96 before Bridget Patterson (63*) and Rachel Church (21*) combined to chase the total down without the loss of a wicket.

The third and final contest of the round took place between West Torrens and Southern District, with the latter emerging victorious by four wickets. Winning the toss and electing to bat, West Torrens put 119 on the board, with Shania McKinnon the pick of the bowlers to the tune of 4/9 from her nine overs. Southern District were then able to chase the required runs down with four wickets still in the shed. Jessica O’Reilly was superb batting at number seven, managing to hold firm as wickets fell around her to guide Southern District to the win.

Round 8 of the Statewide Super Women’s First Grade will see Kensington hosting West Torrens, Northern Districts welcoming Sturt to their home turf and Southern District taking on Glenelg at Bice Oval.
