The Scorpions, the ACT Meteors and 19-time WNCL champions New South Wales Breakers will play each other once in the final round of the 2018-19 season at the new multi-million-dollar Adelaide complex.
Each of the seven teams will play six matches, split into three two-match rounds, with the first round starting in mid-September – an earlier than usual beginning to the WNCL season.
The Scorpions launch their season with matches against Victoria and last year’s finalists Western Fury in Perth.
Round two will see the Scorpions head to Tasmania in November to take on the Queensland Fire and the Tasmanian Tigers, after which the tournament will then break for rebel WBBL|04.
WNCL will resume in early February, with the Scorpions remaining at home for their final matches.
The top two teams at the end of the competition will advance through to a final to be played on 9 February.
Australian players will miss round two due to the ICC Women’s World T20 in the Caribbean, opening positions for potential debutantes, with five Scorpions yet to play their first State game.
