Mr Rayner, a premiership player with Premier Cricket club Kensington in 2002-03, is the Chief Financial Officer for Rural Bank Limited, having worked in senior executive roles within the Bendigo & Adelaide Bank Group over the past 12 years.

The former Stock Journal editor is also Chair of the South Australian Dairy Industry Fund and a Director of Australian Crop Forecasters and ProFarmer Australia Ltd.

“I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to work with the SACA Board, and to contribute to the game of cricket in South Australia,” Mr Rayner said.

“I am a long-term SACA Member and have played at country, ATCA and District levels. I look forward to bringing these varied cricket and business perspectives to future Board discussions.”

SACA President Mr Andrew Sinclair welcomed Mr Rayner to the board.

“Will is the first Board member to fill a casual vacancy following SACA’s constitutional reform last year and the implementation of a Nominations Committee,” he said.

“The Independent Chair of the Nominations Committee Mr Stephen Gerlach AM had no hesitation in recommending Mr Rayner as an outstanding candidate to fill the casual vacancy role. There were some excellent applicants from the SACA Membership who came forward to fill the position.”

In accordance with the SACA Constitution Mr Rayner will hold office until SACA’s 2019 Annual General Meeting and will be entitled to stand for election by Members during the 2019 director election process.
