Pengelley’s 99 guided Western Grit to 7/297 from its 50 overs but Brad Davis scored an unbeaten 112 to lead Southern Force’s successful chase after Pengelley removed Ben Bullimore, Josh Hoffmann and Thomas Kelly – all bowled – with consecutive balls with the score on 254.

Saturday’s other match finished early after Eastern Edge was dismissed for only 57, with Ben Turley taking five wickets for Northern Mavericks.

On Sunday, Southern Force reached Mavericks’ 6/299 with six wickets and more than seven overs to spare at Karen Rolton Oval.

Josh Barrett followed Saturday’s 78 with 79 and shared a 150-run opening partnership with Jake Winter (74). Austin Umpherston top-scored for the Mavericks with an unbeaten 75.

Eastern Edge’s total of 133 was not enough against Western Grit, with Ben Wakim (67 n.o)  the game’s top scorer.
