Fast bowler and year 12 student Falconer has come through the underage system, earning her first State contract this year after being recognised for her serious pace.

Nineteen-year-old allrounder Saville debuted with the Adelaide Strikers last season and has now been contracted with the Scorpions for the first time.

New Zealander Sophie Devine is included in the 13-player squad to potentially play her first game with the Scorpions in two years, while former New South Wales allrounder Ashleigh Gardner may also debut for her new home State.

“It’s always exciting to have some new, young talent in the squad and both Ellie and Tabs have really earned their selection,” Head Coach Andrea McCauley said.

“As a team, we had some really tight contests last year and sadly just fell short of the final.

“After a long pre-season and a couple of new, exciting additions, I’m really confident that we have the right squad together.”

The Scorpions finished their 2016-17 campaign in fourth place, missing out on the final for the first time in three years.

The Scorpions will play their only two home matches this week on Adelaide Oval No. 2.
