The donated stumps, bats, balls, t-shirts and caps will be used to enhance junior competitions and development programs in schools, as well as across VCA school holiday programs.

On behalf of local school St. Joseph’s, cricket ambassador Trinita Jeipao received part of SACA’s donation, where she affirmed how valuable the new equipment will be for students in preparation for school competitions.

With a sharp focus on introducing more women and girls into the game, VCA is hopeful that the new gear will help toward achieving this goal.

VCA also utilised the new equipment in their recent school holiday programs, with a total of 98 children participating across three communities.

Junior Adelaide Strikers caps were used as giveaways at these programs, evidently sparking a new wave of young Strikers fans in the South Pacific.
