This is the second year of the NICL competition, with South Australia fielding four men’s and four women’s teams.

Australia’s best indoor cricketers are competing in over 80 teams across 10 men’s divisions and six women’s divisions, all chasing the title of National Champions and a share of $55,000 in prize money.

This will be the first round of the women’s tournament in SA and the second round for the men.

The live-streamed women’s round will feature the Stepney Steelers up against the Stepney Devils, with the Devils being without key players Neisha Iles, Taylah Lewis and Kiara Stockley. Last year’s Broadbent Medallist Brittany Perry however, is an important inclusion for the side.

The Steelers will be missing Brooke Harris but will be boosted by Australian indoor players Kylie Rattray and Ainslee Knight, plus the off-season recruitment of Rebecca Pollard.

The live-streamed men’s round will take place between the Stepney Saints and the Salisbury Bulls with the Saints featuring five State players and claiming a round one win last week.

Last year’s Saints best and fairest player Callum Wright will be important to the side, as will leg spinner Josh Heenan.

The Bulls experienced a heavy loss last week and are again missing key player Jamie Diener, however young State representatives Bradley Harris and Tyler Grainger-Balding may be players to watch.
