Captain Travis Head is set to feature with Division One club Worcestershire after a brief stint with Yorkshire in 2016.
The 24-year-old left-hander crunched 277 runs from just four List A matches and notched a first-class half-century in his last county campaign two years ago.
Head could be required for national duties in several limited overs matches against England in mid-June which may see him miss a few county clashes.
He will be joined by fellow Redbacks batsman Callum Ferguson at the Rapids for the back end of the T20 Blast competition.
Ferguson was South Australia’s leading JLT Sheffield Shield and One-Day Cup runscorer last summer and will replace New Zealand big-hitter Martin Guptill for the final six group matches of the T20 fixture.
Seamer Daniel Worrall should be well-suited to English conditions ahead of his first season with Gloucestershire, while two-time Neil Dansie Medallist Joe Mennie has joined Divison One first-class runners-up Lancashire for his first taste of county cricket.
South Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa will boost Essex’s T20 bowling stocks, joining the Eagles from July.
Divisions One and Two of the County Championship begin on Friday morning in the UK (Friday evening Australian time).
