Kelvin Smith, Elliot Opie and rookie Michael Cormack will not be offered contracts for the 2019-20 season.

General Manager, High Performance Tim Nielsen said:

“There are always going to be tough calls at this time of the year.

“We still believe there is plenty of talent in the squad but we need to continue to find room to bring some fresh talent through our program to add to the group we have built in the past three or four seasons.

“We will confirm any other changes after Cricket Australia announces its contract list.”

Smith has played 20 first-class games since making his debut for the Redbacks in 2013-14, scoring 747 runs at an average of 20.18. Opie played two Sheffield Shield games in 2015-16 after first joining the rookie list in 2011, while Cormack played six One-Day Cup games for SA.
