In addition to Cricket Australia contracted players Travis Head, Alex Carey and Kane Richardson, the West End Redbacks welcome a host of talent for the new year.

Glenelg's Liam Scott, and twin brothers from Sturt Corey Kelly and Thomas Kelly have earned rookie contracts for the first time.

Scott and Corey were both selected in Australia’s U19 World Cup squad in South Africa in January and are pace bowling allrounders, and Thomas is a promising top/middle-order batsman.

Thomas, 19, was South Australia’s top runscorer at the 2019 U19 National Championships in Perth with 356 at 71.2.

Scott, 19, has been elevated to a rookie contract after making his debut for South Australia against Western Australia at the WACA last season.

Will Bosisto, Brad Davis and Daniel Drew have also earned full State contracts, after strong performances in West End Premier Cricket and Second XI cricket.

Bosisto moved to SA from Perth last season, and forced his way into the Marsh Sheffield Shield side with runs for Adelaide University Cricket Club and the State’s Second XI side.

Sturt captain Brad Davis has also been rewarded with his first contract after making his first-class debut towards the end of the 2018-19 season, and he amassed 738 runs at 73.80 from 13 Premier Cricket innings last year.

West Torrens captain and allrounder Daniel Drew returns to the State list as a fully contracted player, after a stint as a rookie in 2017-18.

Drew earns selection after forcing his way into the Shield side through weight of runs in the pathways, making his debut in SA’s drought-breaking win against Tasmania at Blundstone Arena in December.

“We feel as though we’ve added a fine group of young players who have already represented the State and country, and Daniel, Will and Brad have forced their way onto the list with consistent Premier Cricket and Second XI performances,” General Manager, High Performance Tim Nielsen said.

“We hope that a positive mix of experience and younger players will help us progress to playing more consistent cricket in the 2020-21 season.

“We thank Adam Zampa and Tom Andrews for their service to the State, and wish them well for the future.”

Alex Ross, John Dalton, Ben Pengelley, Patrick Page Jnr and Spencer Johnson were not offered contracts for the 2020-21 season.

Adam Zampa (New South Wales) and Tom Andrews (Tasmania) have moved States.
