Benton took the last four wickets as Southern District lost 4/8 to finish with 237 at Bice Oval, with Port 1/27 in reply at the end of day one. Matthew Sugg top-scored for Southern District with 48 and Josh Barrett made 47.

An unbeaten fourth wicket partnership of 250 between Sturt captain Brad Davis (145 n.o) and Ty Watson (125 n.o.) allowed Sturt to pile on the runs against West Torrens at Henley Oval. Sturt was struggling at 3/60 before Watson joined Davis at the crease and they finished the day at 3/310 after 96 overs.

Ladder leader Kensington was sent in to bat against Glenelg at the Bay and was dismissed for only 183, with Nick Fox the pick of the bowlers taking 3/44 off 20 overs and young leg-spinner Will Bowering capturing 3/45. But the Browns hit back late in the day, Glenelg moving to 3/54 at stumps after Elliot Opie removed key batsman Jake Winter without scoring.

Redbacks allrounder Tom Andrews notched his third century for the season as Woodville was bowled out by Tea Tree Gully for 247. Andrews top-scored with a classy 105 and Jacob Dickman’s 63 also helped contribute to Woodville’s total. Tea Tree Gully was 1/41 at stumps.

James Takos’ 117 led Adelaide to 9/300 against Adelaide University at Glandore Oval. Wickets fell consistently throughout the day with Redbacks quick Nick Winter snaring 4/70 off his 23 overs. But Adelaide captain Ben Pengelley continued his good form with the bat, making 56, and Takos worked with the middle-order and tail to post a formidable score.

Prospect was bowled out for only 218 but after winning the toss and choosing to bat against East Torrens. But the Pirates finished on a high after captain Ben Turley took two late wickets to have East Torrens 3/37. Earlier, Michael Cranmer claimed 5/50 off 24 overs and Kyle Scrimegour fought hard for Prospect to make an unbeaten 82.
