A ton from Port Adelaide’s Amanda-Jade Wellington (113) and five wickets to Sturt’s Alex Price also highlighted round one of the competition.
Under the tutelage of new coach Hannah Perry, a revitalised Southern District side obliterated Port Adelaide by 224 runs.
O’Reilly (110) was supported by fellow opener Selina Solman (56) and new recruit, Statewide Super SA Scorpion, Kelly Armstrong (37). Wellington toiled hard for her side, making 113 and taking 4/30 off 10 overs, but lacked strong support.
Sturt defeated Northern District largely due to Price’s 49 runs and bowling figures of 5/23 (8.4 overs), after ripping through the Jets middle-order.
The Jets struggled to create any real momentum with the bat and were bowled out 81 runs short of their target. Samantha Betts was the standout of the Northern Districts bowlers, taking 4/20 off 8.4 overs.
Kensington toppled reigning premiers West Torrens, thanks to an unbeaten 67 from Rachel Church and 4/13 off seven overs from Sarah-Jane Jameson.
West Torrens’ Tahlia McGrath was solid with both bat and ball, making 57 and taking 2/12 off 10 overs.
