Anita Silva and Jack Coppins were selected in the ‘Black Cap Honour Squad’, made up of the best 12 female players and the best 12 male players from the competition.
Silva collected the best bowling figures for the women’s division, taking 4/11 against Northern Territory in the SA women’s first ever NICC victory.
She was the fifth-highest wicket-taker with nine and also scored well with the bat, averaging 43 for the tournament.
Coppins, also finishing in fifth place for most wickets, nabbed 12 scalps at an average of 10.67, with best figures of 4/35. He also made 176 runs, at an average of 25.14.
Both teams recorded just one win for the tournament, with the women competing for the first time in the NICC, after finishing third last year in the community division of the Imparja Cup.
The SA men’s team were awarded the Spirit of Cricket award, selected by umpires and based on respect for opponents, the role of the umpires and the game.
