Patrick Page’s 129 headlined ladder-leading Adelaide’s 3/237 in West End premier Cricket on Saturday but the game went to the final over before West Torrens fell four runs short, despite 97 from Daniel Drew.
East Torrens secured their spot in the One-Day Cup finals after Jake Lehmann (89), Mike Cranmer (87) and Ian Cockbain (48) helped their side reach Tea Tree Gully’s 7/270 in the last over. Earlier, Matt Weaver hit eight sixes and nine fours in his 106 off 96 balls.
Reigning One-Day premiers Kensington posted the biggest score of the day, Josh Doyle contributing 99 in the Browns’ 5/333. They then dismissed Woodville for only 148, with Jake Brown taking 4/18.
Ben Wakim made 91 in Adelaide University’s 7/257, which was too many for Northern Districts (178).
Centuries to Brad Davis (113) and Thomas Kelly (100) helped Sturt reach 5/251 but it was not enough against Glenelg, Chadd Sayers’ unbeaten 73 securing the points with four balls and two wickets to spare.
Mark Cosgrove’s 98 guided Northern Districts past Port Adelaide’s 7/196 to claim its first one-day win of the season.
West End One-Day Cup semi-finals (Sunday, 26 January, 10.30am): Adelaide v East Torrens (Glandore Oval), Kensington v Adelaide Uni (Parkinson Oval).
