Head to head (one-day matches)
South Australia: 24
Tasmania: 23
Tied: 2
No result: 1

The Redbacks put themselves back in the finals race with a handy bonus-point victory over New South Wales but must continue their winning momentum in front of their home fans on Sunday. Incredibly, it’ll be the first time SA has played a one-day cup match in Adelaide in 2,416 days. Tasmania will be desperate for a result after back-to-back losses and failing to bat out their full 50 overs in either contest. A third defeat would all-but rule the Tigers out of a top-two finals spot with only another four matches remaining, including a return clash between these two teams at the same venue on Tuesday.

Redback to watch – Travis Head
Head is clear to return to State level after the bulk of Australia’s Ashes squad was rested from the opening two rounds of Marsh One-Day Cup action. Many were surprised the 25-year-old missed World Cup selection and were equally surprised he missed the final Test against England at The Oval. Head will be hungry for runs back in his home state to keep his name squarely in front of national selectors.

Danger player – Riley Meredith
The young Tigers paceman is one to watch for the future. Meredith can regularly reach the 150km/h mark and has the potential to turn a match in an over or two. The raw 23-year-old looks to have an improved control of his action and was rewarded with career-best figures of 4/42 from his 10 overs against Western Australia.
