WA resumed the second day 2/94 and looked comfortable in pursuit of SA's first innings 188.

However SA's bowlers swung the match back in their favour, taking 7-56 in the first session of the day to keep their opposition at bay.

Debutant and Tea Tree Gully speedster Tim Oakley was the pick of the bowlers with 4-81, and Cameron Valente took 3-59.

However, WA fought back with a crucial 10th-wicket partnership which added 167 runs, guiding the home side to a 129-run lead when they were eventually dismissed.

SA are now 4/79, trailing by 50, with Jacob Dickman 17 not out alongside Sam Kerber on 6.

Their top-scorers in the first innings were John Dalton with 64 (119), and Dickman 38 (116).
