The team features three fresh faces in new recruits Jemma Barsby, Josie Dooley and Courtney Webb, who could all debut in their first match of the season against Tasmania at EPC Solar Park.
Barsby, an ambidextrous spinning allrounder and Dooley, a wicketkeeper-batter, both made the switch from Queensland prior to the season.
Webb meanwhile, is an explosive batter who had a breakout WBBL campaign with the Melbourne Renegades, transferring from Tasmania in the 2020 pre-season.
Head Coach Luke Williams said:
“This is an exciting era for the Scorpions with three new players added to the selected squad and the continued improvement of home-grown players such as Darcie Brown, who had a standout season with the Adelaide Strikers.
“The way every player has held themselves in these uncertain and changing times, and their attitude towards training, has been superb and we’re all looking forward to getting out there and playing some cricket.”
The team will be led by skipper and Australian bowler Megan Schutt, with international allrounder Tahlia McGrath vice-captain.
Following Friday’s match, the Scorpions will face the ACT Meteors at the same venue on Sunday.
